Computer Applications Syllabus
(taught first semester)
Course Content
An introduction to MS Office 2003 – Windows XP, Internet Explorer, Word, and Excel. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) tests will be given as part of the class over Word and Excel.
Procedures and Guidelines
- Have your book, pocket folder, paper and pencil at your seat when class begins.
- Respect the people, equipment, and furnishing of the lab. Inappropriate to move, deface, or tamper with equipment.
- Inappropriate to put down classmates, use profane language, or roughhouse.
- Push chair and keyboard tray in before leaving, file your folder and papers returned.
- Be on time and attentive, following directions the first time they are given.
- Work quietly on assignments.
- Observe all school rules and standards that are announced or printed in the bulletin.
- Late work is half credit. Due dates will be clearly announced.
- Get the teacher’s permission before leaving the room. Fill in the hall pass in the CA handbook and have me sign it.
- Wait in your seating area for the bell to ring, not by the door.
- Don’t be online without permission unless it’s a class assignment. Removal of Internet access will result otherwise.
- Do not change the background on your desktop.
- Do not share your password/account with others for any reason.
- Do your own work and nobody else’s. (See CA’s cheating policy in bulletin.)
- Exploring the local computer or network or running programs that you're not instructed to run in this class will result in consequences such as network privilege removal, grade deduction, etc.
