Bible II Class Expectations Sheet

Collegedale Academy 2008- Mr. Hayes

Class Goal: Through study and service, together, we will experience and share the Love that God so freely gives to us, His children!

Books You Need: Bible, NAD Textbooks (His Story-Just in Time and His Story-In Our Time), The Ten Commandments (Loren Wade), Steps To Christ (Youth Edition)

What I do : I will use many different approaches to present the important truths found in our study materials and will encourage each of you to be part of the process. I hope to learn as much from you as you will learn from me. I will pray for each of you daily and I solicit your prayers for me. This class needs a team effort. If you fail to do well in my class, I have failed you. Our goal should be the same- to encounter our Blessed Savior in a world that has many different focuses.

What you do: Respect me and each other! Plan to succeed! Be ready to start class at the 2 nd bell. Be seated and have only Bible class materials with you. You have assigned seats and will be moved about the room each quarter. Each day you will receive credit for having your class materials. You will also receive class participation points-just for being positively involved in daily class activities. This is almost 1/3 of your grade!!

How participation points work-

Each day 10 points can be earned just for fully focusing on the class activities. Any “lack of focus” on your part, can result in loss of points. Loss of too many participation points per day will lead to a discussion with me on how to regain the “focus”. Continued “blurred vision” problems will require outside intervention (parents, Mr. Crawford, Dr. Phil, Oprah-whatever it takes!)

How you are graded:

Participation- 30%

Projects- 30%

Tests- 20%

Daily Work/Homework- 10%

Quizzes- 10%

Daily Work/ Homework: If you miss an assignment deadline (Projects included) and it is an excused absence, you will need to turn the assignment in the following class period to receive full credit. Assignments turned in later than this, will lose 20% loss of total points value-EACH DAY it is late!

We all want a safe, cooperative environment in which to experience a daily growth in our relationship with Jesus! I want nothing more but to give you, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, the best possible Bible class experience ever!
